Irish Step Dance | Ages 6+

Irish step dance is a style of performance dance, founded in traditional Irish dance. If you’re familiar with Riverdance, that’s what this type of dance is! It’s technical (think sharp and precise movements), rhythmic (music is an integral part of Irish dance) and fast paced (kids will be MOVING in this class). Irish step dance draws from it’s folk-dance traditions, emphasizing musicality and rhythm as well as from contemporary dance forms like classical ballet. Irish dance is a great way to develop rhythm, coordination and muscle control. This class teaches the basics of Irish step dance, through age-appropriate skill building, fun choreography, self expression and teamwork.  Dancers must be 6 years old by September 1, 2021. Class runs from February 7 - March 14.
